Cutler #11 of Student Housing's Most Active Builders recently came out with their list of Student Housing's Most Active Builders. The numbers were based on the period 1/1/15-12/31/16. Cutler made the list at #11.

We do a lot of campus work. Currently we're finishing up a residence hall renovation at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, renovating and putting an addition on a 117 year old residence hall at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA; we're building a new library for State College of FL, and have 6 smaller projects underway at the University of South FL campus. In Stroudsberg, PA work was just completed at Pinemere Camp. It has been a busy summer on campuses up and down the east coast!

Christopher Heights of Belchertown Breaks Ground

Our 7th project with this owner, the official groundbreaking at Christopher Heights new assisted living residence in Belchertown, MA, was well attended. Site location, planning, funding, and permitting took years. Among those in attendance who made it finally happen were developers The Grantham Group, MassDevelopment, the town's EDIC, senators, the town manager and other stakeholders. The facility will have 83 apartments with 43 for low-to-moderate income residents, utilizing the state's Low Income Tax Credit program. A spring 2018 opening is planned. The new ALF will be part of a newly developed Carriage Grove neighborhood of mixed-use residential, built on the grounds of the former Belchertown State School.

Five College Consortium Celebrates with Ribbon Cutting

A new 35,000 square foot Library Annex with 26,000 square feet of storage is ready to serve the Five College Consortium. At the recent ribbon cutting and open house, visitors toured the building which in addition to the shelving space, provides offices, meeting and reading rooms. The 24' high shelving system was locally designed specifically for the Consortium's use, and can house up to 2.5 million volumes from the Five College Repository Collection, Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith colleges, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. National Library Relocations is managing the huge undertaking of moving and storing all of the materials.

New Global Headquarters for Cold Chain Technologies

Cold Chain Technologies (CCT), recently held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating their new global headquarters in Franklin, MA. CCT is an industry leading manufacturer and supplier of high performance thermal packaging products and services.

Their new 237,000 SF office, research, manufacturing and distribution facility was renovated over a 6-month period. Cutler Design was lead archtect and interior designer and Cutler Associates the construction manager. Design consultants and design-build MEP-FP subcontractors were part of the team that collaboratively analyzed and reviewed all possible systems configurations to develop the best facility solutions for CCT's continued success.

Kim Beauchamp Elected Executive Chair of CMFEO

Cutler CFO Kim Beauchamp has recently been elected to a 3-year term as Executive Chairperson of the Central Massachusetts Financial Executives Organization (CMFEO). Founded in 1993, CMFEO is the premier organization of financial executives in Central Massachusetts. It is a forum for area financial decision makers to discuss issues and solutions relevant to the workplace. Members meet on a monthly basis, with topics designed to enhance professional and technical skills. Kim is a graduate of Assumption College in Worcester, MA, and has been with Cutler for 4 years.

Groundbreaking Held at Alliance Health's West Acres SNF in Brockton, MA

Residents, staff, board members, and the project team took place in a traditional groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of extensive renovations at Alliance Health Management's West Acres Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing center in Brockton, MA. A representative from Mayor Bill Carpenter's office presented Executive Director Dan Mitchell with an Official Citation, congratulating them on the start of the project and thanking them for the services they provide to people in the greater Brockton area. 

The project is planned in several phases and will result in major upgrades to the main entrance, creation of a new short term neighborhood with private rooms, new country kitchens for neighborhood dining, expanded rehab space, and finish upgrades throughout.

Cutler Design is the architect of record; the project will take approximately 40 weeks to complete.
