Cutler Part of Team to Revitalize Mulder Square, Harrisburg, PA
Co-developers Harrisburg Housing Authority and Miller-Valentine Group; construction managers Cutler Associates; Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse, and other local city officials; and neighborhood residents were on hand on Monday, July 17, to celebrate the start of a revitalization project of Mulder Square.
 
Cutler was hired by Miller-Valentine to build three multifamily mixed-use buildings in the South Allison Hill neighborhood of Harrisburg. Construction will take place on 3 separate sites and includes the controlled demolition of existing buildings. Once complete, the project will provide 51 new affordably-priced apartments units and retail space for the community.
 
The Derry-Thompson building will have 2 and 3 bedroom multi-floor apartments. East Mulberry (4-stories), and West Mulberry (3-stories), will offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom residences. The East complex will contain 2,570 SF of retail space at the first floor. All three will have common areas for the residents as well as a parking garage. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2018.

Associated Builders and Contractors & Gould Construction Institute Announces Cutler Associates, Inc. as S.T.E.P. Safety Award Winner
WOBURN, MA – Associated Builders and Contractors of Massachusetts (ABC), the leading voice for the merit shop construction industry, and the Gould Construction Institute (GCI), ABC’s training affiliate, congratulate Cutler Associates, Inc. for recently being named a Platinum Safety, Training, and Evaluation Process (S.T.E.P.) award recipient at the 13th Annual ABC/GCI Safety & Education Dinner held May 18th at Montvale Plaza in Stoneham, MA. 
 
The S.T.E.P. Awards is ABC/GCI’s premier annual event. “A contractor’s most valuable resource is their workers. There is nothing more important than jobsite safety,” said GCI President Barbara Lagergren. “This year’s award recipients deserve each and every accolade they received by continuing to raise the standards of safety, training, and education throughout the construction industry.”  
 
S.T.E.P. Awards are presented annually to ABC member companies with exceptional safety records and this year’s applicant pool was fiercely competitive with a record 60 companies recognized as having an outstanding commitment to jobsite safety. Applicants are evaluated on a number of statistical factors such as incident rates, lost time and OSHA recordables combined with a safety audit consisting of twenty key components. 
 
This year, Cutler Associates, Inc. took home the Platinum S.T.E.P Award in recognition of its exceptional commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for their entire workforce.

New Projects Underway

On the heels of completing a 28,000 square foot addition at Erickson Living’s Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA, Cutler Associates has again been retained by Erickson Living as the developer for Linden Ponds, Inc. to build Willard Square, an independent living residential building on their Hingham, MA, campus. The new 156,378 square foot 7-story building will add an additional 104 independent living apartments to their 108-acre campus.

Based in Baltimore, MD, Erickson Living has communities located across the country from Colorado to Florida to Massachusetts. Cutler is a senior living housing specialist for over 40 years.Our operations-based approach helps owners plan projects with integrated solutions and teams, in order to maximize their investment.

Another recent award will be our third for developer Archipelago Investments LLC. One East Pleasant Street will be a new 5-story, 135 unit mixed-use residential building in downtown Amherst, MA. An Amherst History Mural by Cambridge artist David Fichter and community volunteers will be recreated by the artist on a new wall of the building, scheduled to be completed in 2018.

Director of HR Andrea Healy Chosen for Community Leadership Award

16 years with Cutler, 11 of those in Human Resources, Andrea Healy has been selected by the Northeast Human Resources Association to receive this year's Community Leadership Award.  The award recognizes the service of an individual or organization who supports community involvement and service.

Andrea will be honored, along with other award recipients, at the Annual Awards Luncheon to be held September 29th during the upcoming 2016 Annual NEHRA Conference in Falmouth, MA.

Christopher Heights new ALF in Northampton Wins Award

Cutler Associates is proud to announce that the newly completed Christopher Heights Assisted Living Residence has won the CMAA Construction Management Association Project Achievement Award for New Construction <$10M. The CMAA consists of almost 700 construction management professionals in the New England Chapter alone. This is the 22nd year the CMAA has present 10 awards to deserving organizations and individuals due to their dedication and achievements in the Construction Industry. Cutler is honored to be recognized by the CMAA.
